Frosty Morning Hunt

Heard it was supposed to get down to -4 this morning,
so i decided to get up early and was out n about by 6:00am!

Hagley Park with a frost and low layer of fog looked quite cool :)

I'm going to go buy a decent camera to take along on hunts this week comming.

In the end , I got a few dollars, few pre dec coins
and a stainless steel Skagen ring from the areas i hunted at this morning.

Looking forward to having a few days off comming up,
so ill be back hitting the new silver producing area soon ;)

(Yes, gloves were on this morning - lol)

more pics - to come, sometime.

  1. -4! Gee your keen Ash.
Still I suppose you would have the park mostly to yourself.

  3. Nice Frost! It is better when it is -1 rather than +5 in auckland due to humidity :-(

I've visited CHCH couple of times during winter and felt way better in jacket+scarf+gloves in a cold dry air....

    Good Luck with Hunting :-)

  4. Looking forward to seeingwhat you come up with in your new silver spot. Beware the rechargable batteries, I looked into those too and after some inquiries with our electronics gurus at work I decided against them. Apparantly its all in the amp/hrs not the voltage and the rechargables only last about 1/2 the time of standard alkaline batteries. Ok I guess if you have a couple of sets charged and ready to go. My F4 goes for about 15 to 20 hrs on a set of std alkaline 9v batteries, that would have been cut back to around 7 on rechargables.

    1. Hopefully the next clear lot of pics will be taken this week sometime with a new camera of my own ;) I've got 3 shillings (34,41,45) and a sixpence(34) along with a couple pennys 1922,1943), from the new spot so far, so it shows promise for a proper grid search of the whole area ;)

The GBpro uses one 9v batt. I guess it lasts longer using headphones, as i basically ran a alky out today in 6 hours without them on - lol :) I could get packs of 4 AA's for $3 for the ATpro, but the 9v alkys are a little more. Guess i gotta start finding more goldies ;P
